NVIDIA and Google Strengthen AI Collaboration with Blackwell and Gemini Launches

NVIDIA and Google Cloud have announced a significant expansion of their collaboration, focusing on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The partnership, which has been instrumental in driving AI innovation, is now set to leverage NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture and Google's Gemini models, according to NVIDIA.

Enhancing AI Infrastructure

The collaboration sees Google Cloud as the first provider to offer NVIDIA's HGX B200 and GB200 NVL72 on their A4 and A4X virtual machines (VMs). These VMs are part of Google Cloud's AI Hypercomputer architecture, designed to facilitate the development and deployment of scalable AI applications. The A4X VMs, in particular, deliver over one exaflop of compute per rack, supported by NVIDIA's advanced networking and Google's Jupiter network fabric.

Deployment of Gemini Models

Google's Gemini models, known for their advanced reasoning capabilities, can now be deployed on-premises using NVIDIA's Blackwell on Google Distributed Cloud. This enables organizations with stringent data residency and security requirements, such as those in the public sector, healthcare, and financial services, to utilize sophisticated AI technologies while maintaining compliance and data control.

Optimizing AI Performance

NVIDIA and Google have optimized their infrastructure to support Gemini-based inference workloads efficiently. The integration allows for the handling of significant user queries on NVIDIA-accelerated platforms across Vertex AI and Google Distributed Cloud. Additionally, the Gemma family of lightweight models has been fine-tuned for NVIDIA's TensorRT-LLM library, enhancing performance and accessibility for developers.

Developing a Robust AI Ecosystem

The partnership extends beyond technology, fostering a thriving developer community through joint efforts. NVIDIA and Google Cloud are optimizing open-source frameworks and have launched a developer community to facilitate skill development and innovation. This initiative underscores the companies' commitment to empowering developers to build, scale, and deploy cutting-edge AI applications.

The strategic enhancements in AI infrastructure and the emphasis on community development highlight the ongoing efforts of NVIDIA and Google Cloud to lead in the AI sector, providing robust solutions that cater to a wide range of industries and applications.
