USDFC Launches on Filecoin (FIL) Mainnet Amidst Major Ecosystem Updates
The Filecoin (FIL)-backed stablecoin, USDFC, has officially launched on the mainnet, marking a significant milestone for the Filecoin ecosystem. The deployment, which began its Alpha phase in March 2025, has already seen early adopters minting the stablecoin and establishing liquidity pools. As the rollout progresses, broader community testing is set to commence in April, with a full public launch anticipated in May, according to Filecoin.
USDFC's Strategic Listings and Security Initiatives
USDFC has already secured listings on prominent platforms such as DeFiLlama, CoinGecko, and Sushiswap, providing real-time tracking and data analysis to enhance transparency and adoption. To ensure the protocol's security, Secured Finance has introduced a $20,000 bug bounty on Remedy, inviting security researchers to contribute to the codebase's safety.
Key Network Upgrades and Initiatives
In other developments, Filecoin's CalibrationNet successfully upgraded to Network v25, which includes enhancements like a simplified termination fee model for storage providers and improved Ethereum compatibility. The activation of F3 promises faster transaction finality, benefiting the broader Filecoin ecosystem.
Additionally, the launch of FIL ProPGF aims to enhance public goods funding within the ecosystem. This on-chain program supports essential tools, research, and UX improvements, inviting applications from developers until early May.
Strategic Partnerships and Technological Advancements
Filecoin continues to expand its capabilities through strategic partnerships. Mira and Storacha have teamed up to provide reliable, verifiable data availability for AI applications. Their collaboration focuses on creating a trustless, high-performance storage layer, crucial for autonomous AI workflows.
Meanwhile, Akave Cloud has achieved compatibility with Snowflake, facilitating the integration of decentralized storage into enterprise data workflows without disrupting existing systems.
Community and Ecosystem Developments
The Filecoin ecosystem also welcomes new developments with the rebranding of Textile to Recall Labs, focusing on building RecallNet for decentralized agentic intelligence. NFT.Storage transitions to the stewardship of the PL Filecoin Impact Fund, ensuring long-term decentralized NFT preservation.
Lighthouse has unveiled a redesigned website to enhance user experience, offering streamlined navigation and improved performance, reflecting its commitment to promoting perpetual storage solutions.
Upcoming Events
The Filecoin community is gearing up for the FIL Dev Summit 6, with virtual sessions kicking off on April 23, 2025. These sessions will lead up to the in-person summit scheduled for May 12-13 in Toronto, offering opportunities for developers and stakeholders to connect and discuss key topics such as storage adoption and governance.
