The Render Royale competition for June 2025 has concluded, marking the end of the first season with a showcase of exceptional digital artwork. This global rendering contest, hosted by Render Network, spotlighted artists who created works using Octane Render, Redshift, and Blender Cycles on the render.x.io platform.

Urban Utopias Reimagined

Participants this month explored themes ranging from futuristic urban landscapes to the interplay of nature and technology. The competition saw a surge in entries, challenging the judges to evaluate a diverse array of creative submissions across different rendering engines.

The judging panel included notable figures such as Annibale Siconolfi, Amrit Pal Singh, Jess Wiseman, and Matt Milstead. They deliberated over submissions to award cash prizes in USDC across three categories: Octane Render, Blender Cycles, and Redshift.

Octane Render Winners

The top prize in the Octane Render category was awarded to "MNEME — Light Fails Here" by HOXID, a thought-provoking piece pondering the memory capabilities of machines in a digital era. Ulli Schulz’s "Miiko76" and Lásló Magyar’s "LA 2077" were also recognized for their imaginative depictions of future societies.

Blender Cycles Winners

"The Utopian Lie" by nothaslu took first place in the Blender Cycles category, portraying a dystopian future where only the elite enjoy a facade of perfection. Other winners included "Render CITY Reveal" by Turan Pathan and "Beanstalk City" by turbojpeg_, each offering unique interpretations of urban environments.

Redshift Winners

In the Redshift category, "Reclaim" by Pi Slices emerged victorious, with its evocative narrative of nature's resurgence. Cody Clack’s "Neom" and Eliot’s "Planet Utopia" were also celebrated for their visionary urban landscapes.

The Render Royale competition continues to be a platform for digital artists to express their creativity and imagination. As the June contest wraps up, anticipation builds for July’s theme, "Retro Sci-Fi," which invites artists to explore the futuristic visions of the past. Entries for the next round are due by July 25, 2025, with prizes totaling 5250 USDC.
